To get the best from investing it is important to know what you are trying to achieve and how comfortable you are with taking risks. Take time to think about your goals and objectives and how you would feel if the investment fell significantly in value. Emotions dominate us and often lead to investors making unwise decisions.
It’s important to remember that the first investment is the hardest as it will take time to become familiar with how investments behave and what you can expect from becoming an investor. Investing is not about the short term and it is better to make mistakes early on and learn from them so you become a better investor in the future.
